into the Amazon

This part of the trip was to an eco lodge 2 hour up river on the Peru side of the Amazon.

We had a police escort, due to the state being in lockdown,  issues between the local gold miners.  Is alot of gold, 30 metres below.

Anyway the gold miners and eco tourists don't mix, government is protecting the forest for tourist sector..

Eco lodge had an armed guard with a hand gun, only got to see once, nice place, except at night, rats and mice in the rooms, needed to keep everything locked up... Friends belt was chewed, and hole chewed in his trouser pockets... Etc... By the rats/mice

This little guy was happy snacking on a frog, till some pricks poked a stick down his hole for the paparazzi!!

Middle tree darker one is a Brazil nut tree..

Spotted these guys on the way in, mum dad and a little one.... They are rather big,  80kg ish

with thousands of Amazonian girls chasing me throughout the jungle...

Only one managed to give me a little love bite...

80% deet wasn't enough

Let's hope I don't get yellow fever!!! That's ment to kick in 3-6 days after the bite...
