El calefate... ice and beers

Well... It's almost over... Bus from Chile to El calefate in Argentina... Took a while... 5-6 hours or so... This isn't the biggest.. still pretty impressive... Amazing weather again little wind... Got a little cold on the ice if you got your layers wrong and sweated... But was another awesome day

Torres day 4 - to the towers..

This is a little more challenging... 24km trek early start... Shoes well... Froked...taped together... They only need to last a day!!!

Question is will they hold.. would my body handle this 24 odd km hike...

Started off pretty well... Weather again was amazing... Got to windy point... And yeah no wind... Pretty well shorts and t-shirts kinda weather...  Is ment to be really rare..

Yeah shoes are totally stuffed... Felt every stone coming back down... Feet are still sore 3 days later...

Torres day 3 grey lake

This trek was a bit easier 12 km or so...used super glue on the shoes and duc tape...

Tape lasted 5 mins before coming off super glue held for 1/2 the trek.. so all good..

this spot.. normally has crazy winds.. but yeah we lucked out..
 No wind amazing weather

Torres day 2 - French valley

This was the first longer trek of this tour, 19km, weather was perfect, little to no clouds and no wind...

Headed across the lake on a local ferry... These are expensive... 23000 Chile pesos each way.. 44nzd.. for 15 min trip...

Boat is limited to 100 people so you needed to be early to secure a spot... While going across... We could see on the shore 30 metres away.. a PUMA... yeah.. crazy... I didn't get a photo... But maybe able to get a picture later..

Anyway here are some pictures of the few french valley..

treea are like this from the fires 9 years ago..

This spot you could hear the thunder of avalanches every 5-10 mins..

Also this trek was the beginning of the destruction of my shoes... Yeah.. under a month old... And the soles started to detach... Great... Didn't expect that...
